# How do I upload a delivery receipt?

### **How to upload a delivery receipt**

As the final delivery step, you will be prompted to scan your delivery receipt.

1. Tap scan delivery receipt.
2. Place your DR on a flat surface.

     1. Aim your camera at the DR and position the document in the frame.
3. Hover your phone until a blue square appears and covers the entire document.
4. Once positioned correctly, press the button to take the photo.
5. Submit your document.

### **Uploading a clear delivery receipt**

Check out these tips to make sure your DR is accepted:

- Ensure all signatures are legible and visible in the frame.
- Place the document on a contrasting background for added clarity.
- Make sure the scan is not blurry and free from dark areas, like shadows.
- Center the document in the frame.

### **Why is it important to upload clear receipts?**

If your DR photo is unclear, you may be [denied payout ](https://carrierhelp.mothership.com/carrier/when-will-i-get-paid?hsLang=en)until uploading a better copy.

We send delivery receipts as black and white documents to our customers, so it's important that the capture is clear and without any shadows caused by capturing a hand holding the document or from inadequate lighting.

The example below shows how the carrier's hand and shadow affect the final document sent to the customer.
